Mykolas Komaras, a descendant of the Komar family from Padniestrė, settled at Palėvenės Manor in 1654. His descendants lived in Paulianka (Lower Palėvenė) until World War II. To this day, the manor's remnants include the main building, dairy, brewery, storage, stables, and other outbuildings, all constructed from local dolomite. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, a spacious and tall greenhouse with two towers was added to the manor. This greenhouse also served as a winter garden. The manor housed 26 rooms of various purposes, shapes, and sizes. It boasted numerous works of art and a library of about 5,000 volumes. Surrounding the manor was a 2-hectare English-style park. When visiting the manor, you will meet Nijolė Milaknienė, the granddaughter of the manor's owner Bogdan Komaras, who will share the history of the Komar family with you. The former Palėvenės Manor estate is a state-protected immovable cultural heritage site.
